With the California drought crisis, the city of Irvine has taken a proactive approach in helping to conserve water. Irvine Ranch Water District has been a national pioneer in the use of recycled water, using almost 100% recycled water on Irvine’s landscaping. The city has also taken another step towards water conservation by replacing median and parkway turfs to drought tolerant plants. Beacon Park is proud to participate in the city of Irvine’s efforts by providing new homeowners with landscape design guidelines that allow only relative drought tolerant landscape choices.
Not only are homeowners helping with water conservation, they are also adding beauty and less overall maintenance to their yards. Best of all, there is a surprisingly large number of beautiful trees, plants and shrubs that fall into the drought tolerant category!
